Embrace the adventure, discovery and possibility that lie ahead

My name is Jinett Castromonte. When I started climbing my friends gave me the name Margarita. I am 24 years old and a social communicator, born in Huaraz, Peru beneath the highest mountain range in South America. I have always felt a special connection with nature, but in 2020 during the pandemic I realized mountain climbing would become an essential part of my life.
Mountaineering allowed me to find myself totally vulnerable yet filled with power. They say the most important muscle in mountain climbing is the brain. I agree! Every time I climb a wall or scale a peak an effortless feeling overtakes me, and I am elevated by a single, intense desire to reach the top.
The mountains have became my home. To this day I have climbed 6 Andes mountains in Peru and Argentina, all over 15,000 feet high. Mountaineering has presented me with incredible opportunities. Above all, I am honored to belong to such a beautiful community. For me this is just the beginning. I embrace the adventure, discovery and possibility that lie ahead.
